American Dysfunctionality...American Idiot?

The top four stories of the past week or so…

1.Pat Robertson on Ariel Sharon
Pat: "He was dividing God's land, and I would say, 'Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the [European Union], the United Nations or the United States of America,'" "God says, 'This land belongs to me, and you'd better leave it alone.”
-- Why does Robertson get to “speak” for all Christians and then say something so controversial? Is that really God's judgement on Sharon? How about the hole in his heart he has had since birth?

2.Family Vacation to Vegas (minus the 9 year-old and his 5-year old autistic brother): "A husband and wife who found a dog sitter for their new puppies but left their 9-year-old son home to care for his younger autistic brother while they celebrated the new year in Las Vegas were arrested Wednesday, police said."
-- Why do parents of two minors go off and leave them to fend for themselves while ensuring the puppies got good care?

3.Coal Mine tragedy: "They took our miracle away."
-- How can a miracle be taken away, especially since it wasn’t a miracle to begin with?

4.Bus line debuts tour: "An international bus line launched tours of devastated sections of New Orleans on Wednesday, amid controversy over whether so-called disaster tourism would help, hurt or humiliate the hurricane-ravaged city."
-- Nothing like a tour of a devastated city to brighten your otherwise dull vacation!

I don't think the city government of New Orleans is handling the situation correctly - in a manner of impropriety. But that's just my opinion.
